It’s easy to forget what a beautiful city we live in and the history around us. This spring break, while trying to find something interesting and a little educational to do with the kids, Stone Mountain Park has lots to offer to make your day.

Now that A Stone Mountain Christmas is behind us, Snow Mountain has melted away for the season, we can make way for all the fun spring events gearing up at Atlanta’s favorite piece of oversized granite! This spring and summer, you can check out all the updated experiences and a few classics at the same time. Permanent fixtures like the SkyTram and the Scenic Railroad around the mountain are fun for the smallest visitor and parents alike. Now open to the public, the new Stone Mountain MegaBugs exhibition will fascinate the most curious bugologist (or budding entomologist). Located in the previous dinosaur exhibit, the same animatronic will bring these big bugs to life. But no need to reach for the spray, they’re safely behind the fences. And for fans of the dinosaurs, the indoors Dinotorium is still open and fun for all ages.

You can check out Sara’s video tour of Stone Mountain’s Megabugs to get a cool toddler’s eye-view of the attraction.

Also new for 2019, the Ice Age: No Time For Nuts 4D movie experience and the Rockin’ Land and Lake Tour aboard Atlanta’s Only double-decker tour bus.

Don’t forget that aside from all the new exhibits and experience, you can also enjoy Geyser Towers, the Sky Hike & Air Racers Obstacle Course and Great Locomotive Chase Mini Golf.

PLUS, Every night starting Saturday, March 30 and going through Saturday, April 6th is the always enjoyable Lasershow Spectacular on the side of the mountain and the lawn is back from Snow Mountain for the perfect place to view. You may want to consult Stone Mountain park’s calendar to ensure you know what’s going on and at what time before you go!

So much to do in a day, but worth the trip to see what’s in our own backyard. If you haven’t already, you need to add a trip to Stone Mountain to your family’s summer bucket list!

Keep on saving!  :o)
