Every so often, for our sanity, it’s good to leave the kids with Dad and have a Mom’s Night Out. Atlanta offers a large array of activities for kids, parents, date nights, and even mom’s night out.  So grab your gal pals and take advantage of the opportunities you have for a mom’s night out!

Battery Atlanta Escape Room Mom's Night Out

A few weeks back, I went out with some other local blogger moms to an outing at The Battery Atlanta for some good food and a little escape room fun.  You can check out my vlog about it here.

We started off the evening with a light happy hour meal at Sports & Social, located just across from the Right Field Gate at Suntrust Park. Classic mixed drinks alongside some shareable bar food; Wings, Nachos, Crudités with Hummus and Pulled Pork Quesadilla. Of course, before any food was touched, every blogger had their camera phones out and plenty of pictures taken.

For future endeavors, Sports & Social currently offers half-off burgers on Thursdays from 11 am – 3 pm.  Also, when you book a party for a special occassion,  you’ll get some extra goodies for doing so!

Afterwards, we walked down to The Escape Game located off Battery Avenue.  Since you book your game and reserve a time in advance, the excitement starts the moment to step inside the lobby.  You instantly feel like secret agents with mystery around the corner.

Our team took on the Special Ops room. With a difficulty level of 8 out of 10, this was a test of all our observation skills, teamwork and definitely all the time we were given. Fortunately, you’re never alone — your “eye in the sky” team member will help with occasional clue to move you forward when you’re unsure of the next move. Logic, teamwork and a bit of a sense of humor move you from one space to the next. And in Special Ops, you start in a Moroccan-style marketplace and wind up in a bunker disarming a nuclear missile. Surprises abound, but we were able to work together and completely the Room with just 2:25 left.

Ah, the jubilation of making our successful escape. For a bunch of first-timers, I know we’ll be planning our return trips soon.

Oh, and a Pro Tip: Don’t use your finger to erase the neon dry erase marker off the board.
