Have you ever thought about joining Sam’s Club?  Or have you joined in the past, but let your membership lapse for one reason or another.  Well, I’m hoping to convince you why you should join Sam’s Club.  It’s not like it was even ten years ago.  They’re doing a great job of keeping up with the times, and listening to the needs of their customers.
I decided to do the most scientific thing possible when researching for reasons why folks should join Sam’s Club: I crowd-sourced my Facebook friends.  With no further adieu, here are the (un)official top reasons why you should join Sam’s Club:

Why Should You Join Sam’s Club?

  • Allergy meds are cheap – which I’ve already told you about, right?  But what I discovered after searching last year is they’ve got a great price on their probiotic as well.  I’ve even price-compared at some other big membership warehouse, and I’ve found Sam’s Club to have the best bang for my bucks with probiotic with their store brand.  If you’re curious, it’s a single dose pill, and doesn’t need to be refrigerated.  AND it actually works.  I don’t always notice when I’ve taken it, but I definitely notice when I forget to take it.
  • Books.  Books.  Books.  Yep.  You can snag some great deals on current reads.  You can also find classic lit picks, as well as fun selections for kids, including book/author sets, books to read aloud to your kids, and plenty of fun workbooks, sticker books, and coloring books to keep your kids occupied for the next twenty summers.
  • Paper goods.  Let’s face it, we all need TP and PT, right?  I mean, why not buy it in bulk and keep in stock.  The vast majority of folks I polled in my very scientific poll stated they prefer to buy their paper goods in bulk at Sam’s Club.  One friend even said she bought the vast majority of paper goods and food for her wedding there earlier this month. It was good quality and she was able to serve a crowd of almost 300 for a really good price.
  • Diapers.  Yes, you can get great deals on diapers at Sam’s Club, particularly if you’re not loyal to any one particular brand.  Y’all know by now, I love to hunt cheap diapers, but most folks don’t have time to hunt.  Hunt no more.
  • Meats and other foods.  Kia of CincoMom.com says she gets her stuffed salmon from Sam’s.  And other friends concurred: they get their seafood from Sam’s Club, too.  Many also opt ot get their other meats, and -well- just about all of their groceries there.  Erin of MommyOctopus.com says these items are best bought at Sam’s Club: almond flour, Parmesan crisps. Mrs dash. Vanilla extract, and yogurts.
  • Clothes.  I must admit, I don’t think I’ve ever walked in to Sam’s Club in recent years without at least looking at the clothes.  Yes, it’s a PITA that you can’t try things on and have to guesstimate your size, but the trade off is getting well-made clothes at a good price.  Seriously, I’ve found some great tops and shorts there, and they’ve lasted!
  • Consumables – basically, anything and everything.  😛  Kim of FitDisneyMom.com utilizes coconut oil from Sam’s Club for cooking, hair conditioning and preventing dry skin.  You always hear of all the good in coconut oil, why not buy it in bulk and maxmize its benefits?
  • Contact Lenses (thanks Krystyn of ReallyAreYouSerious.com for this tip!), tires and batteries, CAKES and double-layer cookie cakes, and much much more!
  • A good lunch.  I think we all know by now you can get a filling, cheap lunch at Sam’s Club.  For under two bucks, you can get a pizza slice and large drink, a large pretzel and a large drink, or a hot dog and a large drink.  …..and of course there’s the samples!  One -in theory- could fill up solely on Sam’s Club samples on a good day!

In addition to all the stuff you can get at Sam’s Club -which according to this list, is, um, everything!- they’re really making strides to keep up with customer needs.  Their Scan & Go makes your experience even easier – skip the checkout line entirely, and simply scan items as you put them in your cart, and pay from the app.
