Yes,  this is all about how I made money buying bread today.  Not a whole heck of a lot, but anytime you can make money, that’s a good thing, right?  🙂

First, you need to understand how my husband and I buy loaves of bread: on clearance.  Today, my husband found a loaf of bread for 59¢ at Kroger.  (Before you ask, yes, we always check the bread carefully to make sure it’s not moldy or anything…  And it either goes in the freezer or the fridge to help preserve it…)

Yes, a loaf of bread for 59¢ is a great deal.  But I wasn’t satisfied to stop there.  First, I scanned my receipt to Ibotta, and got a 25¢ rebate for the bread.  (Currently, there’s also a 25¢ rebate for milk and eggs, too!)  Then, I uploaded my receipt to the new Groupon Snap app, and earned an entire $1 for that 59¢ loaf of bread.Ibotta bread - smartphone apps that pay

Boom.

So, there you go, just by paying attention to my smartphone apps that pay, I made a little dough today.  <—- see what I did there?  😉

So for those keeping track, I made 66¢ just by buying a loaf of bread.  Not too shabby, huh?

By the way, did you know just how many smartphone apps there are right now that offer you cash back on your grocery purchases?  There’s quite a few of them these days, and they can all offer you a little extra pocket change for the purchases you make.  Check out my list of smartphone apps that pay, which I try to update as I hear about new (and worthwhile) smartphone apps.

  1. That is great! I’m always looking for ways to save and make money. I will be checking out your list.

  2. Love working these deals, especially on something we go through so much of! When I see clearanced bread, I buy tons and make huge batches of French Toast to keep in the freezer.
