**This post may contain affiliate links. I receive a small amount of compensation when you purchase from my links, which I"ll totally blow on waffle fries and sweet tea, y'all!**

My daughter and I took a li’l trip to my dearly beloved Target this morning, and -as always- I had to check out the trial/travel size section.  Was I ever-elated to see multiple items with those lovely red stickers on them — the amount of stuff on clearance was enough to send me in to overdrive!  I’m happy to say, I showed a wee bit restraint.  :o)

Keep in mind: clearance items may vary by store, but here are some of the highlights I saw at my location today.  (I could only stand to be in there for so long, afraid I would overheat with excitement!!)

Shout travel wipes (4 pk) – $0.48
* $0.75/2 printable coupon
About 10 cents EACH after coupon!!

Playtex Sport Purse Pak (3 ct) – $1.77
$4/2 printable coupon == $0.46 MONEY MAKER!

Dove for Men body and face wash – $0.67
No known coupons available; all exclude trial sizes.  :/

Old Spice & Right Guard Sport deodorant – $0.67
* $1/2 Old Spice Product, exp. 9/30/11 (P&G 08/28/11)
**not sure if this excludes trial/travel size or not??**

Finally, this isn’t a clearance item, but you can get a good deal right now on Nature Valley and/or Fiber One granola bars.  They’re currently B4G1, priced at 4 for $10.  (That’s $2.00 each with the 5th one.)  Use these printable coupons for $0.75/2 to maximize your savings!

In conclusion, my love affair with Target continues.  Yeah, I love that place so much I would marry — well, I won’t go there.  :o)  Y’all have a great weekend!

FREE Tide at Target!!

I was beyond excited to see P&G reinstated their $1.00 off coupon for Tide detergent — it does NOT exclude travel size! (They’d been putting out a wimpy $0.35 coupon for several months prior.  Booo!)

At Target, in the travel size section, you can snag a pouch of Tide for a buck; pair it with the coupon, and it’s FREE (plus applicable sales tax).

And need I remind y’all that a “one load” pouch can be stretched nicely in to a few loads? 🙂

FREE Hefty Travel bags at Target!

Today at Target, (yes, my toy store!), I perused the travel-sized products, as I usually do.  I noticed these Hefty One Zip “Travel Bags” (7 ct, quart size) for $0.99.  I paired it with my $1.00 off coupons ($1/2 Hefty One Zip Packages, exp. 5-31-11 [RP 02/20/11]).  The way the coupon was worded, it said “one count or higher”.  Thus, I was able to get the bags for FREE!  WOO HOO!

Have I mentioned lately how very much I love Target??!?  :*)  Speaking of which, check out their printable coupons — you can stack their store coupons with manufacture coupons for even deeper savings!

I got all this for $11.91 — the Tide, Pampers
wipes (pictured below), and deodorant were all FREE.

Remember me sharing earlier about trial sizes and cheap diapers?  Well, here’s where those two fabulous worlds collided today for some fantastic savings!  Yes, Christmas CAN come a week before Easter.  ;o)

I shop by the three Cs: Coupons, Clearance, and Carol.  (Okay, so my daughter simply tags along, allowing for a good reason to purchase the cheap diapers I find…)

First, I ALWAYS hunt the clearance section.  Second, I combine the clearance items with some great store and manufacture coupons.  Finally, I hit the travel/trial size isle.

Here’s how it shook out:

* $6.28 for a pack of Pampers Sensitive diapers – regularly $8.99 (on clearance) – 2 packs
– $1.75 manufacture coupon (2)
– $2.00 Target coupon, for 2 packs
 $7.06 for 2 packs ($3.53 per pack)

* $4.18 for Huggies wipes refill pack – regularly $5.99 (on clearance)

These were at the bottom of a
different bag, so the wipes
get their very own picture.  :o)

– $0.50 manufacture coupon
  $3.68 final price

* $0.97 for a trial size Tide detergent (4)
 -$1.00 manufacture coupon
 -$0.03 — yes, I MADE three cents on each pack I bought — that’s 12 cents total!

* $2.96 Secret deodorant – regularly $4.95? (on clearance)
 -$3.00 manufacture coupon
 -$0.04 — woot! woot!  That’s another 4 cents that I made!

* $1.02 Pampers travel size wipes
 -$1.00 manufacture coupon
  $0.02 out of pocket

The cashier “gave” me a whole quarter, just for using my own bags.  Combined with the money I “made” from the deodorant and detergent, I “made” $0.77 on this transaction.  Tax, which is always calculated BEFORE manufacture’s coupons, was $1.56.

In a separate transaction, I got 3 shirts, and used my $5.00 coupon I told you about yesterday.  Yes, even unfashionable me will splurge every now and then!

I never did find the shoes I was looking for – you know, my original intention for walking in to Target today…  Do you think my sister will mind her maid of honor walking down the isle barefoot…?
P.S.  If you know where I can find some strappy, silvery or white dress shoes that come in a size 4 or 5, I’m all ears.  If you can find some for under fifteen bucks, even better…

Target Trip = Success!!

I redeemed myself, or Target redeemed itself?, today with a great round up, all for under ten bucks!  Although I didn’t find the gift items I initially set out to find, I came away with some pretty good finds.  I combined some clearance items with my beloved travel-sized items, on top of coupons, and watched the total dollar amount melt away!

First, I got some HOT coupons for $5 off certain Hasbro games here and here.  (Each can print twice, since it’s a bricks coupon.)  Target has these in the stocking stuffer isle for $4.99 each.

Second, I used 4 $1.00 off coupons for Tide, each priced at $0.99 each.  I also used a $1 off 2 Wet Ones, priced at $0.89 each.  (Seriously, have you taken the travel-sized challenge yet?!?)

Finally, I perused the clearance section -an old, happy habit of mine- and found two cool items: the body wash Hubs has been using for $1.98, and these neat little 2 packs of storage cubes for $0.75 each.  (To give you an idea, on the package, they hold CDs.)  I don’t know exactly how I’ll use the storage cubes yet, but for the price, I simply couldn’t pass it up!

So, all in all, I feel like the coupon-Karma has worked itself out, and I feel once again at peace with my shopping and savings.  My Target failure over the weekend is fast becoming a faded memory…

Now if only I can find the gifts I’m looking for while I’m out shopping!!  *sigh*

I got all this for under $10!  Woo hoo!

Target & the Great Trial-Size Test

My Latest Loot from Target:
all this for $10.83 out of pocket!

In case I haven’t said it lately, I really love Target!  Not only do they have the one of the best coupon policies around, but the store coupons you can use to stack with manufacture coupons just makes me want to do a jig!  (But I promise, no one wants to see that sad mess….)

One thing I have been reading about, and been wanting to test out, is using my coupons to purchase trial size products.  There are oodles of coupons for $1 off an item, and most trial/travel size items are marked at, slightly below, or slightly above a buck.  This makes for some snazzy deals!  You must read the coupons carefully — some specifically exclude trial sizes!
While there on Wednesday, I decided to test the trial-size waters with Target’s wall of trial size items.  I used three $1 off Tide coupons for three “one use” packets (ya’ll know by now how to squeeze much more than one load out of that!), which were priced at $0.99 each*.   While there, I spotted Clean and Clear face wash at $0.97 each, and was elated to find my $1 off coupons for them, too.  (I thought they would be great to keep in my travel bag, instead of lugging a larger bottle of face soap.)  I knew I could do the same with the Secret deodorant.  And finally, I had one $1.00 off coupon for Head and Shoulders, to match with one trial size bottle at $0.97.

As the picture suggests, I got a few more items while there, but had store and manufacture coupons to stack for them all.  Purchasing thirteen items, I used fifteen coupons!  Essentially, all items were free except for the diapers, wipes, and Scrubbing Bubbles!  Naturally, I’m still experiencing quite a nice high, thanks to my trial-size test.

I encourage you all to take the trial-size challenge for yourself.  You may never buy regular sized items again!!  :o)

* – Target’s coupon policy is to round a coupon down, if it exceeds the value of an item being purchased.  Therefore, for example, if you have a coupon for $1.00 off an item, priced at $0.97, the cashier is to mark the coupon’s amount down to $0.97.
