How to block Facebook game invites

It all started with Farmville a few years back, and for some of us, it’s only gotten worse: Facebook games.  I, in particular, don’t care to play games on Facebook, and never accept invites for such.  With Facebook’s ever-changing formula, I stumbled upon a way to block Facebook game invites, and wanted to share it with y’all.

Sure, you could just hit “ignore” or decline whenever you get invites for Facebook games, but if you wish the invites to cease all together, here’s a sure-fire way to do so.

How to Block Facebook Game Invites

First, scroll down the left sidebar from your Facebook homepage.  Find the “apps” section, and look for the “games” icon.

Next, you’ll come to this screen, click “activity”:

From the “activity” section, you should see a section for “invites”.  This is where the magic happens, y’all.

Once you click on “invites” you should see all the game invites you’ve gotten.  (I didn’t do a full screen shot, because it shows your Facebook friends, and well, I just thought I’d be nice. Mkay?)  This is where you’ll “block” the games.  Go through each game and click “block”.

You’ll get a confirmation screen, asking if you want to block the app.  The answer, which actually isn’t a button, is “hell yes!”.  But click “confirm” will work just as well.  Remember, you’ll need to go through and block EACH game listed.

Once your screen looks like this, you should be good to go.

And then you’ll have this glorious screen.

Pretty simple, huh?  This works for now, as of June 2014, until Facebook changes its interface once again.  Check back in a week, I’m sure it’ll change.  😉

Keep on saving!  :o)
