10865921_10153432778247222_9218826947961717597_oI’m a native Atlantan (duh) now living in the DFW area of Texas, mother of two, teacher-turned-SAHM-turned-part-time-preschool-teacher, with a life-long flair for writing and penny pinching.  I married a man who is equally cheap frugal.  Together we’ve been living a Dave Ramsey lifestyle before we ever knew who he was!

Since entering motherhood, I have yet to pay over five or *gasp* six bucks for a pack of diapers, and manage to stock up on cereal for less than a dollar a box.  I want to share my savvy shopping tips and tricks with any of y’all interested in saving money. Additionally, with a background in education, I also enjoy sharing ideas to help parents enrich their children’s lives, with frugal parenting tips.

And, naturally, as a native Atlantan, I love sharing about local events around the metro Atlanta area.

One of my passions involves reading and promoting literacy for readers (and non-readers) of all ages, as well as enhancing kids learning, especially at the preschool level.  I have a knack for potty training, and am currently working on finding as many picky tot pleasers as I can for my two little monkeys.

Another passion may or may not involve a deep, intense love of waffle fries and sweet tea.

Oh, and I liberally use the word “y’all”, with an occasional “fixinta”; and most of y’all will be referred to as “hon”.  Get used to it.

Also, I’m super-thankful to have a wonderful contributor in Tiffany, from Real Talk Mom, formerly known as The Bizy Mommy.  Yeah, she rocks!

Since moving to a Texas, I’ve been blessed to bring Sara on board – she handles many events specific to the Atlanta area, and offers her perspective of a mom with young toys.
